The Brave Girl

The Brave Girl

There‍‌‍‍‌ was a lovely village with hills all around, and in the village lived a small girl named Meera. Even though she was small, she was brave big. A terrible storm hit the village one day. Trees were uprooted, houses were shaking, and people were running for their lives.

While all the people were looking for a safe place, Meera heard a very weak cry from the river. She didn’t hesitate for even a moment. Following the cry she found a little boy who was on a slippery rock and water was rising rapidly. The river was flowing very fast that is why everyone was afraid to help.

Meera did not move back. She got a strong rope, tied one end of it to a tree and went slowly towards the boy. One step at a time, she battled the strong wind and the water that was coming quickly. She found great difficulty, got to him and dragged him to the shore safely.

The people of the village were amazed and thankful of her. They honored Meera for her courage. When someone asked her where she got the courage, she just smiled and said, “I just did what was right.”

Moral: Real bravery is not being fearless but helping others when you are ‍‌‍‍‌scared.
