It was a hot day during one summer, a thirsty crow was flying from place to place in a search of water. Above the fields, trees and houses he flew, for he searched without finding a single drop to drink. He felt very tired and weak.
Finally, he looked up and saw a pot under a tree. He dropped down and peered in. A little water was left in the bottom, but fell beyond his beak. The crow attempted to knock over the pot, but the pot was too heavy for him.
Then the cunning crow thought of something. He started to collect small stones from the ground, dropping them one by one into the pot. Slowly, the water level rose. At last the water ran so high, that the crow was able to drink. He found the fuel delicious and flew away happily.
