It was a nice sunny day and Rohan was in the park playing. He saw his friend Meera lugging a huge bag of books. She was worried and her bag was too heavy.
Rohan’s first reaction was, “It’s not my bag, why should I help?” But then he remembered what his teacher taught him, “Hands are not for hurting or pushing. Hands are for helping.”
Rohan dashed to Meera and said, “I will help you!” Together, they had been able to lift the valise. Meera smiled and said, “Thanks Rohan!” You made my job so much easier.”
Rohan also helped his grandmother water the plants, and he fed a street puppy by giving it some biscuits. Each instance, he warmed with happiness inside.
The eve of the day that Rohan would go to final sleeing, he informed his mother: ‘I discovered something today. They are hands that can be strong, but even better when they’re hands that help.” His poor mother huggled him and said, “Yes, my honey. Life is a whole lot nicer with helping hands.
Moral: Hands are for helping, caring and sharing, not for hurting.
