One fine morning, a big bear was walking through the forest. He was starving, and wanted something sweet to eat. At once he discovered a tree laden with wild honeybees. On a limb there was a small bee hive that was dripping golden honey.
The bear’s mouth watered. He poked his paw into the hive and pulled out some honey. But the minute he did, a tiny bee popped out and stung him on the nose!
“Ouch!” roared the bear, becoming angered.
He gave a great growl and shook the entire tree. “How dare you sting me for one paw of honey?” he shouted.
And all the bees in the hive poured out—angry buzzing. The bear ran as hard as he could, but the bee followed him and stung him a lot. The poor bear had to jump into a pond to escape.
Sitting in the water, the bear considered its options: “I was stung once, and I allowed my temper to get the better of me. That was many more stings, now I got nailed!”
He had learned the hard way that lashing out in anger could just make things worse.
Moral: Don’t let an emotion take over you because you will end up hurting yourself even more!
